Corporate Tax Compliance

Preparation and submission of business tax returns, with computations documented so positions taken can be explained if questioned.

The context

Tax compliance is judged less by how quickly a return is filed than by whether every position within it can be supported later. We prepare computations to be legible to a reviewer who was not in the room when the decisions were made.

Typical scope

  • 01Preparation of tax computations from the finalised accounts
  • 02Return preparation and submission within the applicable filing regime
  • 03Capital allowances and disallowable expenditure review
  • 04Documentation of judgemental positions and their basis
  • 05Correspondence with the tax authority on matters within the engagement

How the engagement runs

  1. 01

    Scoping

We confirm which entities, periods and obligations fall inside the engagement, and which do not.

  2. 02

    Computation

Taxable profit is computed from the accounts with each adjustment referenced to source.

  3. 03

    Review

Judgemental treatments are discussed with you before anything is submitted.

  4. 04

    Submission

The return is filed and a complete copy of the computation and working papers is retained for your records.

Commonly needed to begin

  • Finalised or draft accounts for the period
  • Fixed asset additions and disposal records
  • Details of related-party or intra-group transactions
  • Prior-period returns and any open correspondence with the tax authority

This is a general indication only; the exact information required depends on the engagement. Sensitive documents are exchanged through arrangements agreed with you, never through this website.

Tax rules differ by jurisdiction and change over time. Nothing on this site is tax advice for your circumstances; positions are only advised within a signed engagement.
